Non Congruent Alternative Interior Angles

These plastic knives are positioned as non congruent alternative interior angles. Non congruent angles are angles that are not the same measurements. Alternative interior angles (scribbled in blue) are angles formed when a transverse cuts through two lines. These angles are not congruent, meaning their measures are not equal. Plastic knives are used to cut food. They are a major part of the food industry. This is an original picture.

Segment Bisector

Weather vanes are an example of a segment bisector. A segment bisector is a line that creates two congruent    sides when it hits a segment. Weather vanes are specific to the meteorology industry and are used by meteorologists to predict the weather like the Doppler radar. I found this picture on: http://qualimetrics.com/tools-used-to-study-weather/ .

Skew Lines

This shredder has an example of skew lines. Skew lines are lines that are not parallel but will never intersect. The purple line at the top will never intersect with the blue line at the base of the shredder. Paper shredders are used in offices and homes to dispose of sensitive or important papers like bank records to lower the risk of identity theft. This is an original picture.

Adjacent Non- Supplementary Angles

This plane is an example of a pair of adjacent non supplementary angles. Non supplementary angles are angles that do not add up to 180 degrees, which are in blue. The orange line is the shared side between the two angles, making them adjacent. Adjacent angles are angles that share a common side, the orange line, and a common vertex. Planes are a major part of the aerospace industry and are used for transportation of people and goods around the world. I found this image on : http://x-plane.softonic.com/mac/descargar-version/x-plane-9-30b4 .

Vertical Angles

These two pencils are forming vertical angles, which are the opposite angles formed when two lines cross. In this picture the vertical angles are in red. I took this picture myself and pencils are used as office supplies by professionals and students to write.

Angle Bisectors

This fan's outside casing has many examples of angle bisectors. An angle bisector is a line that splits an angle directly in the middle into two equal parts. Fans are a part of the hospitality industry because hotels have them in their rooms and use them for air conditioning. Fans are found everywhere and are used to lower temperatures.  This is an original picture.

Acute Angles

The double and triple ring slices of a dartboard are examples of acute angles. Acute angles are angles with measures less than ninety degrees. Dartboards are used for recreation and sport. This is an original picture.

Line Perpendicular to a Plane

This outline of an oil drill depicts a line perpendicular to a plane. In this case, the ground, or the blue line is the plane. The drill, or the green line, is the line perpendicular to a plane. Perpendicular means a line at an 90 degrees to a plane or another line.  I found this image on http://www.clker.com/clipart-oil-drill.html. Oil drills are used to mine oil internationally and are a vital part of the oil industry.

Supplementary Angles that are Linear Pair

This post-it dispenser can be used as an example of a supplementary angle that is not a linear pair because the two angles add up to a 180 degree straight line. The base of the dispenser is the 180 line and the post it branching out is the linear pair. This is an original picture. Post-its are used as office supplies and by students marking books.

Three or more Coplanar Parrallel Lines

Tennis courts use three or more co planar parallel lines in their service areas. Those lines if they were to continue would never touch, making them parallel. They are on the same court which in this case is the plane. Tennis is a sport widely played around the world by thousands.
